Indian Legendary Athlete, Milkha Singh Passes away after hustling with COVID
No doubt, COVID has snatched many beloved and followed personalities from us, and it indeed is a hard fact to digest that they are no more between us. One such person who ruled the hearts of the country and ample of athletes looked up to him was the Great Milkha Singh who spread charm wherever he went.
Everyone who knows even a little about sports knows who Milkha Singh is, The Flying Sikh, no one calls him that for nothing, he just amazed people when he was on the track, ran like a bullet. He literally was a living legend and an inspiration to every soul.
Milkha Singh was born on November 20, 1929, in Gobindpura which presently is in Pakistan. He was the first Indian to have won the Gold Medal in Commonwealth Games in 1958.
He also depicted India in the Olympics in 1956, 1960, and 1964.
He came in the infection of COVID on May 19, 2021, and on June 19, 2021, he left us with a void that no one can fill.
Milkha had a very challenging childhood but he managed to make his living by boot polishing, working as a shop cleaner, and stealing some essentials from the trains in Delhi, afterward he was separated by his parents due to the war, and thereafter he lived on his own. Also had an elder sister.
There is also a famous and super movie based on his autobiography ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ with the same name in which Indian Renowned Actor Farhan Akhtar portrayed his role on screen.
The whole country is paying tribute to him from Prime Minister to a common man who ever loved him is shook in grief and have expressed their thoughts for Milkha Singh.
