Punjab Kings VS Kolkata Knight Riders, Match 45 IPL 2021 Highlights, Kings Claim the throne!

The 45th match of IPL 2021 was between KKR and PBKS on the 1st of October, 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Till now, out of about 10 matches KKR has managed to win only 3 of them. One of these includes the 21st match between the same opponents and the result of that match was in favor of KKR. Obviously, the tables have turned this time, or what fun would have left for the fans.

The show of both the teams was commendable but if and only if that could have been necessary to excel in the league.

Preity’s Presence Pushed Punjab?

The toss was won by Punjab Kings and they chose to bowl. Hence, the openers of KKR were Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill. The pair was set apart as Shubman Gill got bowled by Arshdeep Singh on the 2nd ball of the 2nd over, he could only gather a total of 7 runs. To fill the place of Gill came Rahul Tripathi and the partnership of him and Iyer was worth watching.

Rahul was caught out by Deepak Hooda at the ball of Ravi Bishnoi at 11.3 overs striking 3 4s and one six, mustering a total of 34 runs for the team. Venkatesh Iyer completed his fifty and made 67 runs hitting mind-blowing nine 4s and 1 six and at 14.4 overs he was also caught out by Deepak Hooda and the bowler was Ravi Bishnoi. Significance addition of runs was done by Nitish Rana who made 31 off 18 balls and Dinesh Karthik whose score was 11 of 11.

At the end of the first inning, Punjab’s target was 166.

It was indeed appraising for Punjab Kings that one of the owners Preity Zinta was present in the stadium and seems that it paid off.

For Punjab, under the captaincy of KL Rahul, it was a piece of cake to achieve that target.

Kl Rahul scored 67 off 55 balls, Mayank Agarwal 40 off 27, Nicholas Pooran 12 over 7, Aiden 18 off 16, Deepak Hooda 3 runs, and Shahrukh Khan shot the winning shot.

And hence the winners of this match were Punjab Kings.
