Covid-19 Scaring BCCI Ahead Of IPL 2021
BCCI is all set to host the 14th season of World famous Indian Premier League. The first match will kick off on the 9th of April where two IPL giants Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face each other in the opening encounter of IPL 2021.
But, due to the arrival of the second wave of the coronavirus in India, the cases have increased especially in the Maharastra which is scaring BCCI as Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium is among the venues of the 14th season.
Many people including the players and the supporting staff have been tested positive for Covid-19. Two new names have been added to the list of positives, Axar Patel of Delhi Capitals and Devdatt Padikkal of Royal Challengers Bangalore. Earlier few members of the ground staff of Wankhede Stadium were tested positive.
BCCI is now thinking of changing the location from Wankhede to any other stadium but till now no final confirmation has been made. Significantly, RCB is all set to start its campaign against the MI on the 9th, and it has been assuming that Padikkal will be available for the match.
