Chennai’s Bowlers Dominate Over Rajasthan Royals!!
With fine bowling performances, Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by a huge margin of 45 runs in match number 12 of IPL. The game was played in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium which allows batsmen to score big.
Earlier Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and asked CSK to bat first. In response, the yellow army started well although they lost Rituraj Gayakwad on the team score of 25. Faf Du Plessis set up a small partnership with Moeen Ali who played a knock of 26 runs in 20 balls. CSK lost its second wicket on the score of 45 when Chris Morris from Rajasthan sent Faf back to the dug-out.
There were no big performances from any batsman of Chennai. The highest individual score from CSK was 33 which was made by Faf. With the help of a small contribution from Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, and a fine cameo from Dwayne Bravo, Dhoni’s CSK went to a total of 188.
Chetan Sakariya was the leading bowler from Rajasthan Royals. He took three wickets which included wickets of Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, and MS Dhoni. It was dream come true for Sakariya. Chris Morris got wickets, and Mustafizur Rehman and Rahul Tewatia got one-one each.
Chases are always easy in Wankhede. With this Hope, Rajasthan’s batsmen went to the crease. Jos Butler and Manan Vohra set up an opening partnership of 30 runs before Sam Curran sent Vohra back. Butler was playing fine on one end but he didn’t get any partner at the other end. Skipper Samson departed early. Hopes of Rajasthan were finished when Ravindra Jadeja clean bowled Jos Butler. He made 49 runs with two sixes and five fours in it.
No other batsmen from Royals tried to set their feet on the crease. It was really a brilliant performance from the CSK’s bowlers. Jaydev Unadkat tried to reduce the defeat margin. In the end, the Royals could only score 143 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scappled two wickets. Moeen Ali was absolutely fine with the ball in his 3 overs he took three wickets by just giving 7 runs. Sam Curran got two wickets too.
For his brilliant all-around performance, Moeen Ali was the Man of the Match. See how Suresh Raina responded to the win,
