Amit Mishra Wrapped Up Mumbai Indians Innings, Giving Delhi Victory By 6 Wickets!
Another day, another match on MA Chidambaram Stadium, and another spinner turning out the game for a team. This it was Delhi Capital’s leg spinner Amit Mishra who scappled 4 wickets against Mumbai to restrict them to a short total.
Before that Mumbai Indian’s skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first which is something every team is doing in Chennai. But only the skipper himself could make the decision valid. Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer from Mumbai with 44 runs. No other batsmen could make a big inning. Indians after winning the toss didn’t start well and lost their first wicket on 9. Though Sharma set up a partnership of 58 runs for the second wicket with Surya Kumar Yadav who got a start but fell after scoring 26.
Skipper himself didn’t make his innings big and became Amit Mishra’s first wicket of the match. In the end, Ishan Kishan’s and Jayant Yadav’s innings took Mumbai to 137. Mishra was the leading bowler from Capitals as he took 4 wickets by giving 24. Youngster Avesh Khan also scappled two wickets.
Seeing the dept of Delhi’s batting line up the score was very short. Though Delhi also didn’t make a good start as they lost Prithvi Shaw at a team score of 11 only. Shikhar Dhawan and Steve Smith set up a partnership of 53 runs for the second wicket before Kieron Pollard sent Smith back. Australian great managed to score 33 runs. Dhawan yet again played a decent knock of 45 runs. He was sent back to the dugout by Rahul Chahar. Skipper Rishabh Pant didn’t do much and departed early.
Right-hand batsman Lalit Yadav and West Indian hitter Shimron Hetmyer took Delhi to a victory of 6 wickets over the Indians. This is Mumbai’s second loss and Delhi’s third win which took them to the second position in the points table.
Amit Mishra was the obvious choice for the Man of The Match award. Former blasting batsman Virendra Sehwag praised Mishra by saying Old is Gold. He took to Twitter to congratulate the leg spinner.
