ICC T-20 World Cup 2021: Underdog Pakistan Beat India By 10 Wickets And Shut A Lot Of Mouths!

Finally, Pakistani fans can now sing ‘Moka! Moka! Song for the Indians as Pakistan has beaten India for the first time in a World Cup match by 10 wickets. In a super 12 match played in Dubai, the green team completely outplayed Men In Blue and showed that they are favorites here for winning the Cup. With this over India, Pakistani players have shut a lot of mouths which considered them the underdog for this match with their performance.

Before that, it was Babar Azam, a Pakistani Skipper who won the toss and elected to bowl first. The due was all set to play its role in the second innings. Thus, Babar chose to bowl first. India didn’t start well. As expected, Pakistani pacers showed their class with the new ball. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi scappled the wickets of both openers. In the first over, he caught Rohit Sharma in front of wickets. Sharma got out on the first ball that is he got out on a golden duck. In his second over, Afridi bowled KL Rahul with a fine inswinger which was unplayable.

It was the time of Indian skipper Virat Kohli to handle the situation. Virat then added 25 runs for 3rd wicket with young batsman Suryakumar Yadav. Hasan Ali then removed Suryakumar to give India third breakthrough in the powerplay. At the end of the powerplay, India was reduced to 31 for 3. Finally, India started gaining control over the match. Virat Kohli joined hands with Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant to build a partnership of 53 runs for the 4th wicket. Pant played a crucial knock of 39 runs from 30 balls.

He tried to shift momentum in India’s favor. In his innings of 39, Pant hit 2 sixes and 2 fours. Leg spinner Shadab Khan got the wicket of Pant while trying to hit a shot, Pant hit it in the air. On the other hand, the skipper was playing his role. He kept rotating the strike and adding singles and doubles. It was important for the team that Virat stays till the end.

Virat then built another partnership with R Jadeja which took India over 100. During this phase, Virat changed his gears and played some shots. The king completed his half-century, an important and much needed at this stage. Hasan Ali grabbed another wicket as he sent Jadeja to the dugout. The all-rounder didn’t help much and scored 13 from 13 with 1 four. The new man Hardik Pandya came to the crease when just 10 balls were left.

Finally, Shaheen Afridi got the big wicket of Virat Kohli. Skipper Kohli played a fine knock of 57 runs in 49 balls with 5 fours and a six. In the end, India lost the wicket of Hardik Pandya as well. Indian team made 151 runs in their 20 overs with Virat leading the chart. Keeping in mind the due factor this was not a good score.

In response, there is nothing much to say about India’s bowling. Pakistani openers were just fabulous. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan showed why they are two of the bests in T-20is. Yes! The Pakistani batsmen were outstanding but we have to say, Indian bowlers were just poor with the ball. Defending a short target, the team needed a wicket with the new ball. But Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami couldn’t deliver as per expectations.

Mystery Spinner Varun Chakravarthy lost his magic with the ball. Pacers were using slower deliveries with the new ball. Spinners are balling short balls. Indian bowling was completely below the average. In the end, due played its role. It was nearly impossible to bowl with a wet ball. The openers chased down the target in 17.5 overs. Babar played a knock of 68 from 52 with 6 fours and 2 sixes in it. On the other hand, Rizwan was too good for the Indian bowlers. He made 79 runs on 55 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes.

At the end of the match, some beautiful heart whelming scenes were seen between the two teams. MS Dhoni was seen discussing with Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, and one other after the match.
