India Vs England 3rd Test: All You Need To Know About The Pink Ball Test

With a scorecard of 1-1 in the series, both India and England will try to take lead in the third test match which will be played with the pink ball starting from 24th February at Ahmedabad. Significantly, both teams are due to play a four-test match series ahead of ICC World Test Championship. 

After the defeat in the first test, India bounced back in the second one to equal the scorecard. Now team India will have eyes on winning the third match to take the essential lead in the series. On the other hand, England will be excited as the match will be played with a pink ball which suits them well. 

India in the Pink Ball Test!!

The Indian team has just played two day-night test matches. First against Bangladesh in Kolkata where they managed to beat the visitors. Men in blue played their second pink ball in Australia last year and suffered a humiliating loss. Thus, the team is still struggling with the pink ball.

On the other hand, England has good numbers than India in day-night matches. The hosts need to be very careful.

Match Timing and Venue:

Since it is a day-night test match, the game will begin at 2 hours 30 minutes IST, on the 24th of February, in the World’s largest stadium ‘The Motera Stadium’, situated in Ahmedabad.

What can be the playing XI Of the teams?

The Indian team will likely go with Jasprit Bumrah and two pacers more in the third test match. As the pitch is new, it is difficult to predict whether it will favor spin or not. If it favors spinners, we will see India playing with three spinners, otherwise, china-man Kuldeep Yadav will be replaced with a fast bowler. There are doubts about Shubman Gill too. The other players may remain the same. England will continue with its rotation policy. We will see James Anderson coming back in the squad again. Opener Zak Crawley is fit and might replace Rory Burns in the third match. England has to find a replacement for Moeen Ali as he has returned home, the visitors might go with Jonny Bairstow or Chris Woakes. There will be no other change in the squad.
