IPL Auction 2021: Bid Goes Big For Krishnappa Gawtham Making Him Most Expensive Uncapped Player In The History Of IPL
Auction for the 14th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) has been completed and it has brought a smile to the face of all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham as he has become the most lavish uncapped player in the 13 years history of IPL after Chennai Super Kings has purchased him for the bid of INR 9.25 crore.
Three teams went for Gowtham, Kings smiled in the end
Three teams including Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) went for the all-rounder at the auction. A bidding war was started between KKR and SRH which took the base price of Gowtham to INR 7.25 crore. In the end, CSK defeated SRH in the bidding and took away Gowtham at the price of INR 9.25 crore.
The official Twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings has posted a video of Gowtham thanking CSK for showing faith in him. He said that he is nervous as well as excited to play under Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) and Suresh Bhai (Suresh Raina).
