IPL is one of the most loved and followed franchise crickets in the world, it’s amazingness is justified by the diversity of the players it has from all around the globe each having mind-boggling talent, and its T20 format which forces every team to bring out their best on the ground. Though every match is a classic let’s go through five matches that brought the fans on the tip of their toes. 

Kings XI Punjab VS Mumbai Indians in 2008 

Presenting the match with the very first season of IPL when Mumbai Indians was bowling first and did not let Kings XI Punjab score more than 189 in 20 overs with 4 wickets taken. Kings XI, on the other hand, made up their mind to be winners of this match and played like it was their last match. Mumbai Indians was a great opponent but lost the match by only 1 run as Kings scappled all 10 wickets of MI. 

Mumbai Indians VS Chennai Super Kings in 2012

One thing which is always sure that whenever MI and CSK encounter then there are expectations of bombarding of runs and wickets on the field. It is the year 2012 and the match no. is 49. CSK bats first and the players deliver a smashing hit of 173 in 20 overs. Sachin is the captain of MI and somehow the team manages to get to the end where it needs only 4 runs off 1 ball, Dwayne Smith hits a match-winning four and decides in MI’s favor. 

Chennai Super Kings VS Mumbai Indians in 2018 

It was the first most match of the IPL 2018 season MI and CSK were again playing against each other. CSK won the toss, elected to field, and Mumbai Indians scored 165 but CSK itself was never a step back from MI and DJ Bravo led his team to victory, also he was rewarded as Man of the Match. 

Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals in 2014

This match should be counted as one of the best and biggest thrillers in the history of IPL. 

Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians both needed to win the match to get qualified for the 

Playoffs. Royals were a bit ahead in terms of net run-rate. On the other hand. Mumbai

needed a victory of good margin.

Rajasthan batted first and put 189 on the board. Indians had to chase the target in less than 15 overs to get ahead of the Royals and this was never going to easy. But with help of Corey Anderson’s striking knock, the match went to the last ball where Mumbai needed to score a boundary either four or six. James Faulkner was the bowler from Royals and Mumbai’s Aditya Tare was on the strike.

That moment which was full of suspense suddenly changed into joys and celebration for the Indians as Tare hit a six on that ball. Mumbai not only won the match but also with a better run-rate to get into the play-offs.

Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals in 2010

It seems that these two teams always make the match special. The year has changed but not the thrill. The two teams played a thrilling match in 2010 where one man was going to change a lot. Mumbai batter first and put 213 runs on the board. Rajasthan hadn’t started well and they loose their 4 key men on just 66.

Then the arrival of Yusuf Pathan changed the course of the match. Pathan smashed a ton on just 37 balls giving Mumbai a setback for some time. His partnership with Gogra was running well until he got out when Rajasthan needed 40 off 18 balls. Gogra played well and took the match down to 12 runs in the last over.

Everyone’s breath was on the tip but It was never easy for Gogra to do it against Lasith Malinga. Mumbai won the match but Gogra and Pathan won the hearts.
