Fine Bowling Help Afghanistan To Beat Scotland By A Big Margin Of 130 Runs
Scotland may have qualified for the super 12 groups by winning three consecutive matches but they have got the real quality of the World Cup here against Afghanistan. A perfect display of cricket from Afghani players has completely outplayed Scotland. Either it is batting or bowling, the Afghan team has shown that they are nowhere less.
The match was played a Sharjah where the pitch usually supports the spin bowlers and thus, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Afghani opening pair started with a bang. Pair of Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shahzad put an opening stand of 54 runs in just 6 overs. Scotland bowler Safyaan Sharif got the first wicket of Shahzad who was looking dangerous. The new man Rahmanullah Gurbaz joined hands with Hazratullah Zazai to take the team score at 82. Good-looking Zazai missed his half-century and got bowled to Mark Watt. He made a fabulous 44 from 30 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Now, next batsman Najibullah Zadran and Gurbaz got to stick to the pitch and completely outplayed the Scotland bowling attack.
